BOSTON -- After the Harvard Crimson looked to have been holding their own in the second period of the 61st Annual Beanpot Tournament semifinal on Monday night at TD Garden, but two late goals from the No. 5 Boston College Eagles changed that as they took a 3-0 lead.

In the stanza, the Eagles handily held the shots on goal edge at 16-6 for a 31-14 total game advantage.

At 18:18, Smith streaked down the left wing off a pass from junior Bill Arnold to beat Harvard junior Raphael Girard high again. The goal was the Fairfield, Conn. native's second of the game and doubled his total of two that he had entering the contest.

BC rookie defender Michael Matheson made it 3-0 at 19:09 as he exchanged a pass with fellow freshman Teddy Doherty at the center point for the power play one-timer.
