I do not know anything about cycling, other than that it has caused Lance Armstrong to talk about his blood a lot. But I'm pretty sure this kind of thing, which happened during Stage 9 of the Tour de France, did not happen the way it was drawn up:
That is indeed a French television car sending leader Juan Antonio Flecha careening into Johnny Hoogerland. Some sports have hazards, and nobody ever said cycling is supposed to be easy. Maybe somebody did, but if they did, I wouldn't have heard about it, because I don't know anything about cycling.
Luis Leon Sanchez ended up winning the stage, thanks in part to our automotive interloper.
Stay tuned for more on the 2011 Tour de France. And by more I mean more by knowledgeable cycling enthusiasts. Also, head to the fantastic Podium Cafe to discuss matters further.
