As the riders in the 2012 Tour de France take a much-deserved rest day on Tuesday, we're taking the off day to compile the best photos from the first 10 days of one of the world's most grueling competitions.

The 2012 Tour de France began its 2,173-mile trek to Paris on June 30, with a individual time trial prologue in Liège, Belgium. After nine stages, with two wins each going to Peter Sagan and André Greipel, the Tour takes a rest day on Tuesday, so what better time to look back at the past 10 days and compile some of the best photos!

The Tour resumes on Wednesday with Stage 10, a mountain stage that will take riders through the Alps and up the Col du Grand Colombier, a "beyond category" climb with long sections at a 12 percent grade. Good luck, you guys!
