After a wet, bumpy ride through Stage 5 that saw defending champion Chris Froome knocked out of the race, the 2014 Tour de France gets a bit smoother in Stage 6. The ride will make a 194 kilometer run through the relatively flat land between Arras and Reims.
Race leader Vincenzo Nibali enters the day with a slim two-second lead over Astan teammate Jakob Fuglsang, but has gained a significant lead over contender Alberto Contador, who lost almost three minutes on Wednesday.
Here is the map of the day's route.
Here's a look at the stage profile, which features a sprint sandwiched by a pair of category four climbs.
The riders will scale two hills towards the finish, but the final 37 kilometers are relatively flat. Though the finale is flat, it is curvy -- there are no less than six roundabouts during the final six kilometers -- and should make for an exciting finish.
