Tour de France 2014 results and standings, Stage 3: Marcel Kittel takes the day

One of the German stars took the attention of cycling fans on Monday, winning the third stage over Peter Sagan.

Marcel Kittel of Team Germany/Giant-Shimano) won Stage 3 of the 2014 Tour de France on Monday morning, outlasting Peter Sagan of Svk/Cannondale. Kittel finished the stage with a time of three hours, 38 minutes and 30 seconds, feeling boosted by the crowd, per the BBC.

"That is the fastest I think I have been on a sprint finish. The crowd was fantastic."

Sagan finished the stage with the same time as Kittel.

Stage 3 was a distance of 155 kilometers that included a high-point of 108 meters in Epping Forest. The journey began in Cambridge and ended in London, with the route going through Saffron Walden, Finchingfield, Felsted, Moreton, Epping Forest and Olympic Park, deep in the heart of England.

Vincenzo Nibali remains in the lead after taking control by winning Stage 2, pacing Sagan and others by two seconds.
