Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to arrest their poor form with a home match against 18th-placed Reading.

The Royals have had a mixed start to life in the Premier League, and will not be expected to get anything from their trip to Anfield, although with the Reds in poor form themselves, could still hope to emerge with some of the spoils.

Injury to Fabio Borini sees Brendan Rodgers' side with just one fit recognised striker in their entire squad. Luis Suarez has carried Liverpool already so far this season, but the Reds will now have to pray he remains fit too. With Pepe Reina also possibly out, even a game as straightforward as this has it's dangers for Liverpool.

The fixture will have special significance for Royals boss Brian McDermott - a 2-1 away win in the League Cup in January 2012 against Liverpool was his first ever victory in charge of Reading, a position he stepped into after the departure of the previous boss...
