Ricardo Vaz Tê appears to be facing an extended time out after reportedly dislocating his right shoulder
West Ham's Ricardo Vaz Tê was helped gingerly off the pitch in the 63rd minute of the Iron's match against Arsenal. Reports indicated that the striker has suffered a dislocated right shoulder and it certainly looked like that as physios walked him to the locker room, helping to hold his right arm and shoulder immobile.
Vaz Tê picked up the injury after a collision with Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone, in which Vaz Tê dragged his foot across Mannone's head and then fell to the ground. It was a bit of a dirty looking play in the first place and now appears to be compounded by a severe injury for Vaz Te. Bad move all around.
We'll have to wait for an official report on the injury, but it appears Sam Allardyce will be without Vaz Tê for a while. The Portuguese forward was a key part of West Ham winning promotion from the Championship last season, including scoring the winning goal in the Irons' playoff final victory over Blackpool.
