A visit to Newcastle isn't the happiest thing for any club to countenance these days, but Sir Alex Ferguson is pushing hard for a win. Three recognised strikers (plus whatever you want to call Shinji Kagawa) are starting for the visitors as they look to pick up three points. And why not? With Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor out, this Newcastle defence is there for the taking. The Manchester United midfield, however... I don't like Tom Cleverley and Michael Carrick's chances against Newcastle's pairing of Cheik Tiote and Yohan Cabaye.
One further note: Both teams are 'United' here. Referring to Manchester United as 'United' would be silly.
Newcastle United starting lineup (4-4-2): Steve Harper; Shane Ferguson, James Perch, Mike Williamson, Davide Santon; Jonas Gutierrez, Cheik Tiote, Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa; Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse.
Manchester United starting lineup (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Patrice Evra, Johnny Evans, Rio Ferdinand, Rafael; Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick; Shinji Kagawa, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck; Robin van Persie
