Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing make surprise starts for Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers returns to his former club.
The duo have been out of favour in recent weeks due to their disappointing form, but Rodgers has surprisingly thrown both into the team, with Jonjo Shelvey and Suso both on the bench, along with Nuri Sahin and Joe Cole. How much Rodgers' team has to do with form and how much to do with fitness following their midweek game remains to be seen.
Swansea meanwhile hand a start to Itay Shechter up front, and give youngster Ben Davies another start at left-back. Gerhard Tremmel continues in goal in the absence of Michel Vorm.
