Everton vs. Arsenal 2012: Preview and TV schedule

Chris Brunskill

The Toffees and Gunners will tussle for control of fifth place in the Premier League when they meet at Goodison Park

David Moyes and Everton welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park today looking to break one streak and continue another.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last ten matches at home and have only lost twice at home in their last 22 matches. They haven't been able to defeat Arsenal however in their last 10 tries and given their disappointing recent results against Norwich and Reading, Moyes will be hoping to get back in the win column at Arsenal's expense. Moyes will have influential midfielder Marouane Fellaini back from a card accumulation suspension and could have several faces back among the 18 as well including Kevin Mirallas, Darron Gibson and Victor Anichebe.

Arsene Wenger will be looking for his side to bounce back from a listless nil-nil draw against Aston Villa on the weekend. After demolishing their North London rivals Tottenham and securing their place in the Champions League knockout round, the Gunners were unable to solve a determined Villa side. There's no rest for the weary though as Wenger must deal with the inevitable fatigue that comes with Arsenal playing their fourth match in twelve days.

Arsenal should get a boost with the likely return of Theo Walcott from a shoulder injury.

Everton injuries and suspensions

Out: Phil Neville (knee). In doubt: Tony Hibbert (groin), Darron Gibson (groin), Victor Anichebe (hamstring), Kevin Mirallas (hamstring).

Arsenal injuries and suspensions

Out: Abou Diaby (thigh), Andre Santos (abdominal), Tomas Rosicky (achilles). In Doubt:Theo Walcott (shoulder)

Tony Hibbert made the bench against Norwich and should be available for selection. Gibson played 63 minutes for the U-21 squad last week and could make the bench. Anichebe and Mirallas are both expected back from their hamstring issues. Arsene Wenger will be without Diaby, Santos and Rosicky, though Rosicky has resumed training. Theo Walcott is expected to be available having recovered from shoulder problems.

Venue: Goodison Park, Liverpool, England
