Chelsea are up 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to a very unlikely source that they would love to start becoming a likely source for goals. While being completely covered up on a set piece, Fernando Torres somehow located the ball and finished past Vito Mannone to give the Blues a 1-0 lead over Arsenal.
Arsenal's marking wasn't actually very poor on the free kick that led to the goal, at least on Torres. He was completely blanketed by Laurent Koscielny and shouldn't have had much of a chance to make a play on the ball. Incredibly, Koscielny turned his back on the ball and never saw it fly into his general direction. Torres reached around the Arsenal defender with his right foot and hit a great strike from close range.
The goal came just a couple of minutes after Abou Diaby was forced out of the match with an injury. He was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Aaron Ramsey has moved into midfield from the right wing.
