With RB Arian Foster only averaging 3.2 yards per carry, the Houston Texans battery of QB Matt Schaub and WR Andre Johnson has stepped up. Johnson caught a wide-open, nine-yard toss into the end zone to tie it up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Schaub has 250 yards in the third, with 127 of them on ten targets to Johnson. The QB has only had two 300-yard games this year, and had been held out of the end zone in two of his last four games. Johnson has made the most of it, going over 95 yards in five of his eight games and ranking fourth in the NFL in yards per game.
With interceptions in back-to-back games, Schaub has also avoided turning the ball over so far. Jaguars QB David Garrard’s stats today are almost identical to Schaub’s after a 52-yard Jags TD pass, but he’s not throwing his every other pass to Andre Johnson, so.
