The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have a very good time last week, losing to the Denver Broncos by about 1,000 points until garbage time kicked in. But Matt Cassel fantasy owners were ecstatic about the Chiefs needing to keep throwing, as the QB piled up 469 yards and four touchdowns, a rare aerial Chiefs outburst.
The situation isn’t quite so desperate today against the Arizona Cardinals, but Cassel’s off to a throwy start anyway. He found WR Dwayne Bowe for a one-yard TD and has thrown for 107 yards late in the second. RB Thomas Jones also banged in a one-yard run, which is something you’re much more comfortable reading when the Chiefs are involved.
RB Jamaal Charles has played second fiddle so far today, with only four touches to Jones’ eight. He has 46 yards though, and broke one catch for 25, so expect to see him get his sooner or later.
