The Indianapolis Colts dropped their fifth straight game to start the season, but from a fantasy perspective, they remain at least modestly intriguing. Curtis Painter has not wowed people thus far, but he is starting to show enough to potentially be a mix and match bye week fill-in. He threw for 277 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Colts loss to the Chiefs.
Painter's favorite target on the day was Pierre Garcon, who caught five passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He is looking like a very solid connection with Painter in spite of Indy's overall struggles to do much of anything. They have managed to hang tough in recent weeks and while it remains to be seen whether they'll win many games the rest of the way, they're going to give a lot of teams a lot of trouble.
Some intriguing matchups that could make for decent matchup fill-ins would include games at home against Jacksonville and Carolina in weeks ten and twelve. You likely will have better options for both weeks, but if not, don't sleep on either of them as at least a modest option.
