Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones left Sunday's loss to the Packers in the third quarter due to a hamstring injury, and it looks like the injury could cost him practice time and maybe a game. Jones is expected to sit out Wednesday's practice and then have the team re-evaluate him on Thursday. This follows a Tuesday report on Sportscenter in which John Clayton stated that the injury was a one-week deal.
Jones currently leads the team in receiving yards and was off to a solid start in his rookie campaign. He had not gotten into the end zone yet, but he was developing into a solid fantasy weapon. If he has to sit on Sunday, Harry Douglas would draw the start in his place. Douglas hasn't exactly wowed folks in limited looks so we could see Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez benefiting the most from Jones absence. Or White could suffer from more coverage rolled his way. You start Roddy White every week anyway, so it's more just something to have in the back of your mind.
We'll be back Thursday and Friday with practice participation reports and updated news on Julio Jones.
