The Atlanta Falcons will be without their rookie wide receiver Julio Jones this Sunday against Carolina Panthers as coach Mike Smith has officially ruled him out. Jones has gotten back out running around and working with the training staff, but Smith is playing it safe with Jones hamstring injury. They can get easily aggravated so it makes sense for Atlanta to hold him out for the week.
In Jones' absence, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez will get plenty of looks. However, in place of Jones, the Falcons will start Harry Douglas. They will also give additional playing time to Eric Weems and Kerry Meier. Weems and Meier are not worth rostering and Harry Douglas is only just barely a consideration if you are desperate for a receiver because of byes and injuries.
It would not be at all surprising to see Matt Ryan simply look much more frequently in Roddy White's direction on Sunday. Good coverage can slow White down, but any lack of production will not be for lack of passes.
