The New England Patriots conducted their Thursday practice and running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis sat it out, a day after being limited in practice. This downgrade from limited to missed is not a good sign for his fantasy chances this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. We will need to wait and see how he is used in Friday's practice, but if this holds up you will likely want to bench The Law Firm this Sunday.
If he is unable to play, Stevan Ridley would get all the carries against a Cowboys that is quite solid against the run. The Cowboys defensive line hasn't been fantastic, but the linebackers and secondary appear to do a great job containing runs before they emerge at the second level. This is not to say you shouldn't start Ridley if Green-Ellis cannot play. You should definitely start him, but temper your expectations a bit for this road game.
In the meantime, we'll be back with a Friday update on this fluid situation. It is possible the Patriots are just being cautious with The Law Firm but we'll know more Friday. It is also entirely possible you will simply have to wait for the Sunday inactive list before deciding what to do. Good times.
