Indianapolis Colts quarterback Curtis Painter completed 23 of 34 passes for 188 yards in a 17-27 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals today. Painter connected with tight end Dallas Clark for his only touchdown of the game, and he also threw an interception.
Painter was averaging 206 passing yards a game with 618 passing yards on the season and four touchdowns with zero interception through his first three games of the 2011 NFL season. Painter's passing numbers have been surprising in his first two starts, both of which had long touchdown passes.
Painter was ranked by Yahoo! as the twenty fourth quarterback heading into Week 6 with the taking on the Cincinnati Bengals who rank 3rd against the pass.
