Steve Smith finished the Panthers' 31-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons with five catches for 66 yards. Smith did not score a touchdown today. He did lead all Carolina receivers. It was Smith's second lowest output for a game this season and the second week in a row that he did not top 100 yards receiving. Carolina hosts Washington next week.
Smith was averaging 121 receiving yards a game with 609 receiving yards on the season and three touchdowns through his first five games of the 2011 NFL season. Smith's receiving yards per game is up nearly 100 yards per game.
Smith was ranked by Yahoo! as the 3rd ranked wide receiver heading into Week 6 taking on the Atlanta Falcons who rank 28th against the pass.
