Pierre Thomas Fantasy Update: New Orleans Saints RB Barely A Factor

Stay connected with SB Nation

With Drew Brees nearly passing for 400 yards, the New Orleans Saints running game barely got off the ground. Pierre Thomas, the third back in the Saints' trio came in last with seven carries for 11 yards. He also caught one pass for five yards, but he isn't much of a fantasy option.

Fantasy owners had to wait until Week 5 for Thomas to score his first touchdown of the season, a six-yard touchdown reception against the Panthers. For the season, Thomas is just about even in racking up the yard in the air and on the ground. He entered Sunday's game with 154 rushing yards and 133 receiving yards. However, splitting time with Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram has taken a fantasy toll on each of them.

Fantasy owners found Thomas as the No. 33 running back in Yahoo!'s Week 6 NFL fantasy rankings, the last among Saints backs. Darren Sproles was No. 16 and Mark Ingram was No. 25.
