Michael Vick Injury Update: Dirt In The Eye, NOT A Concussion

Stay connected with SB Nation

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins in the third quarter, but returned a few plays later. There was some concern he had taken a bit of a shot to the head, but Vick stated after the game that he left because of dirt in his eye. At first glance, Vick did seem a bit shaken up, but having dirt in the eye could elicit a similar reaction. Vick wears a protective shield but the dirt must have slipped in underneath.

Vick did not put together a dominant performance against the Redskins, but he was a solid fantasy play in leading the Eagles to victory. Vick finished the game with 237 passing yards, a touchdown, an interception, and 54 rushing yards. As a scrambling quarterback, Vick's fantasy performance gets a nice boost from the rushes.

When Vick left the game, Vince Young came on in relief and was 0 for 1 with an interception and one rush for two yards. I'd imagine that can't lead to a quality QBR rating! Vick returned and finished out the game and now head into a week seven bye on a bit of an upswing after the big divisional victory.
