Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson has been waiting for word on his appeal of a three-game suspension and he might finally have resolution. The NFL has reportedly reduced the suspension from three games to one game and a fine. Benson's NLRB charge against the NFLPA and NFL is still pending and it remains to be seen how that will impact when Benson sits.
Right now, the Bengals have a week seven bye before returning to action against Seattle. The Seahawks are struggling a bit this season but they have actually put together a very strong rushing defense. The week after that the Bengals face the Tennessee Titans who also have a strong rushing defense. Things quiet down the following week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which has struggled in stopping the run.
For now, you can continue sticking Benson into your lineup week in and week out. It remains to be seen when he will sit given the nature of the NLRB charge, but for just a one-game suspension, it basically equates to a second bye. It is not ideal, but it is much better than a three-game suspension. Bernard Scott would likely be the starter in his absence with Brian Leonard getting some carries as well. Neither is a great fantasy option and with it only being one week there is not much you need to do with that.
