Matthew Stafford Fantasy: Slow Start For Lions QB

Stay connected with SB Nation

Tough sledding for the Detroit Lions offense through two quarters today. Quarterback Matt Stafford has completed just five of 11 pass attempts for 47 yards.

Matthew Stafford has proven himself to be a matchup-proof starting fantasy quarterback. Despite facing one of the league's stingiest defenses in the 49ers in Week 6, Stafford still managed to throw for almost 300 yards and two touchdowns.

Against the Falcons in Week 6, Stafford faced on the worst pass defenses in the league, giving up the fifth most passing yards and the 10th most points overall. Though the Lions, on paper, look like they should be ahead early in this game, they really don't have a grind-it-out and run the clock section of their playbook. Stafford is averaging 39.5 pass attempts per game, and he's done plenty with them. He should be starting ahead of almost every quarterback in the game this week.
