Shonn Greene Fantasy: Jets RB Rushes For 112 Yards

Shonn Greene showed signs of breaking out of a slow start by rushing for 112 yards on 20 carries against the San Diego Chargers, but the New York Jets running back was kept out of the endzone. He also had just one catch for five yards.

Greene has been an underwhelming fantasy option again this year, though not quite to the extent he was last year when he was a high-round draft pick and wound up being a backup for the entirety of the season. In 2011, he's been the starter, just not terribly effective.

Greene faced a tough test in Week 7 versus the Chargers, who in their five games have been effective at stopping the run. One thing that seemed to work in Greene's favor, however, was the Chargers having been downright dominant in defending the pass, meaning Greene came close to getting the 25 carries a game that Rex Ryan says he wanted to give him. Though his YPC isn't high, he's no Cedric Benson either, and should be effective enough with a high workload to work as a RB2.
