Miami Dolphins rookie running back Daniel Thomas has been a key part of a Dolphins offense that could charitably be described as terrible today. Through the first half, Thomas has 21 rushing yards on four carries. He also has two catches for no receiving yards.
Thomas was projected to be one of the better rookie running backs in the NFL in 2011, and he's lived up to that billing so far — when able to go, anyway. He has 249 yards in his three games this season, and had 107 and 95 yards in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. The issue for Thomas is health: he missed Weeks 3 and 4 with a hamstring injury, then struggled against the Jets, gaining just 47 yards on 15 carries.
