Joseph Addai Injury Update: Colts RB Leaves Game With Hamstring Issue

Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai as forced to leave in the first quarter of his team's Sunday Night Football contest with the New Orleans Saints as he aggravated his hamstring injury. Addai entered the game as questionable and a game-time decision, but was active and starting from the get-go. Addai left the game after two carries for eight yards and two catches for eleven yards.

Delone Carter came on in his place and put together a solid effort in spite of the blowout. Carter finished the game with 83 rushing yards and a touchdown. Donald Brown worked as Carter's backup, grabbing ten yards on four carries.

Michelle Tafoya reported during the game that Addai indicated if the game had been Tuesday he would have been 100%. That would seem to indicate he was struggling a bit coming in and it just didn't come around. It's also possible the hamstring tightened up a bit, and when it did feel fine the game was already turning into a rout. Whatever the case, we will keep an eye out for updates on Addai over the next couple of days. He only practice once this past week, so we'll see if he gets much practice this coming week.
