Curtis Painter Fantasy: Are You Really Using The Colts QB, Still?

Stay connected with SB Nation

Curtis Painter really shouldn't be anyone's idea of a fantasy starting quarterback. Heck, he's barely an NFL starting quarterback and they need 32 of them. Once again, he showed that he's a perfectly forgettable fantasy performing, turning in 250 yards on 26 of 49 passing. Not horrible numbers, granted, but toss in his two interceptions and that's not the kind of thing you're going to get many points from.

Despite the Indianapolis Colts' horrid, winless start to the season, backup quarterback Painter has not been a colossal failure. His chemistry with Pierre Garcon has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners, and if you're starting quarterback is in a bye week, Painter's not a terrible play.

After feasting on weaker defenses like the Bucaneers and Chiefs, Painter has a touchdown and two picks in his last two games. This week he's facing the Titans' 15th-ranked pass defense, so don't expect big things.
