Brandon Jacobs Expected To Play Vs. Dolphins

Stay connected with SB Nation

After missing the last two games with a knee injury, New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was a limited participant in all three of the team's practices this week and is listed as "Probable" on the team's official injury report.

Jacobs is expected to be the Giants' No. 2 running back against the Miami Dolphins, who are allowing 118.5 yards per game on the ground, which has them tied for 18th against the NFL.

With starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw coming off his first 100-yard game of the season, it's unclear how many carries Jacobs will receive on Sunday. Jacobs has bristled at his lack of attempts and, in an interview with Men's Fitness magazine, the 6-foot-4, 260-pound running back disclosed that he does not expect to be a factor this season or with the team beyond his current contract, which expires after the 2012 season.

"I just can’t wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again, you know? Next year, hopefully," Jacobs said.
