Olsen scored on a 39-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Cam Newton in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings today. Olsen finished the game with four catches for 73 yards. It was his best game since the opening week of the season, and he continues to play a key role in the Newton-led Panthers' offense.
Olsen had 286 receiving yards on the season with 3 touchdowns entering Week 8. Olsen was averaging 41 yards receiving per game. Olsen's receiving yards per game was up nearly 15 yards per game from last season.
Olsen was ranked as the 12th ranked tight end according to Yahoo! heading into his match up with the Minnesota Vikings.
