San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis finished Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns with a mere three catches for 27 yards, but he might have a bit of an excuse. Davis left the game at one point with an arm injury and returned to play with pain the rest of the way. According to Davis, he landed on his right arm wrong and dealt with some numbness and then pain.
Davis has been up and down this season and struggled to maintain his top ten tight end status. Prior to today he he had three touchdowns in two games and mixed in a 114-yard day before that. However, he hasn't had the week-in and week-out dominance that fantasy football owners are used to. The 49ers offense as a whole has been a bit up and down to date, but it remains to be seen if that will change as long as the team continues to win.
For now, the 49ers are getting back many of their offensive weapons, which does not bode well for consistent strong performances from any of them aside from Frank Gore. Davis remains a must start each week and just hope for some more consistency.
