Seattle Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson made an unexpected appearance on Sunday as he came off the bench to replace Charlie Whitehurst in the Seahawks loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Seahawks lost 34-12, but Jackson threw for a career high 323 yards in defeat. He had one interception and no touchdowns, but the yardage total was impressive nonetheless.
Given that Jackson came off the bench, nobody will benefit from the start. However, Jackson is quietly emerging as a possible bye week candidate here and there. He is not a great option, but with some decent wheels and the ability to throw up some decent passing totals on occasion, TJax might not be an awful choice if you are short a quarterback in the coming weeks.
Jackson did not start as the Seahawks were hoping to get him one more week of rest. Charlie Whitehurst's struggles forced the Seahawks hand and they reinserted Jackson into the starting lineup. The Seahawks travel to face the Dallas Cowboys in week nine before heading home for a date with the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson is not exactly a great option in those weeks, but if you're desperate, you're desperate.
