Matt Cassel Injury Update: Chiefs QB Suffers Hand Injury In Loss

Stay connected with SB Nation

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel was knocked out of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos after suffering a couple of injuries. Cassel was reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury, although there was not much confirmation of a shoulder specifically. The only real confirmed injury was too his hand as he was seen leaving the game wearing a cast on his throwing hand, with his index and middle fingers immobilized.

Cassel reportedly was simply too banged up to finish up the game and so the Chiefs went with Tyler Palko to finish out the game. Cassel indicated he would be ready for his homecoming against the New England Patriots next week on Monday night Football. Nonetheless, a cast is never a good sign. Todd Haley will likely chat with the press tomorrow and we should get some kind of update then.
