The New England Patriots went into the Meadowlands Sunday evening and made a statement as they demolished the Jets 37-16. The Jets hung close heading into the fourth quarter, but the Patriots poured it on late to cruise to victory.
One of the keys to the Patriots early two-touchdown lead was tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots tight end had a monster game as Tom Brady was looking his way all night long. Gronkowski was targeted eleven times and finished the game with a team-leading eight receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns. It marked his second straight 100+ receiving performance. Prior to that he had back-to-back games of 94 yards and 74 yards as he has come on strong lately.
Gronkowski remains a must-start tight end at this point. The Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday in a game that should provide an opportunity for another solid performance from Gronkowski. The Chiefs have been very inconsistent this season and with Brady targeting Gronkowski, keep him in your lineup.
