Arizona Cardinals tight end Todd Heap practiced on a limited basis on Thursday and Friday and is "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers with a hamstring injury.
A native of Mesa, Arizona and a 2001 first-round pick out of Arizona State by the Baltimore Ravens, Heap returned to his hometown team on a two-year, $5.5 million contract to provide the Cardinals with a receiving presence from the tight end position that has been lacking under head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Heap had 13 receptions for 150 yards over the first four weeks of the season, but missed three games with a hamstring injury before returning in Week 9. Heap aggravated the injury against the Rams and was inactive last week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
While Heap has been out, Jeff King has emerged as the top receiving tight end for the Cardinals, catching 18 passes for 200 yards. In addition to Heap, Cardinals rookie tight end Rob Housler has been out with a groin injury.
