Mark Sanchez put up some of the best fantasy football stats in the NFL on Sunday afternoon. Yup, you read that correctly. Sanchez only completed about 50 percent of his passes and didn't top 200 yards, but he did throw four touchdown passes in a 28-24 win against the Bills.
Dustin Keller (two touchdowns), Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes all benefitted from perhaps the best game of the season for Sanchez.
Sanchez is the most typical average fantasy quarterback, at least when you average out his stats from game to game. Fantasy owners counting on Sanchez this week were no doubt hopeful based on the matchup against the Buffalo Bills, a team that seemed suddenly incapable of preventing opponents from scoring points.
Leading into week 12, Sanchez had completed 193 of 338 passes, for a 57.1 completion percentage. He had 14 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also had three rushing touchdowns prior to this game. Fake Teams, SB Nation's fantasy spots site, has Sanchez ranked 15th in their week 12 quarterback rankings.
