Montario Hardesty Injury: Peyton Hillis Takes Starter Snaps After Hardesty Gimpy In Warmups

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Cleveland Browns got back their number one and number two running backs on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, but then lost one of them during pre-game warmups. Backup Montario Hardesty was active for Sunday's game, but reportedly felt his calf muscle tighten up while getting ready for the game. Hardesty does not view the tightness as a setback, but rather just proof that he wasn't 100% quite yet.

Number one back Peyton Hillis was finally back on the field in his first appearance since week six. He sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday, but got back into limited practice participation on Friday. Hillis finished the game with 65 yards on 19 carries, Colt McCoy had the second most carries with six for 38 yards and Chris Ogbonnaya finished with three rushes for 16 yards.

We'll want to keep an eye on the Browns practice participation report this coming week as they get ready for the Baltimore Ravens. The matchup is a tough one even if Hillis is the lead back. If the Browns get Hardesty back, their situation is tough to predict for fantasy purposes. Against the Ravens, you are best served sitting your Browns running backs.
