Beanie Wells Fantasy Recap: Cardinals Running Back Has Career Day

Stay connected with SB Nation

Running back Beanie Wells helped guide his Arizona Cardinals to a 23-20 victory over the St. Louis Rams thanks to a career performance from the third-year running back. Wells rushed 27 times for 228 yards and one touchdown. That easily topped his previous career best of 138 yards week four of this season against the New York Giants.

Wells has been dealing with a right knee injury that has slowed him for much of the season. He opened the season incredibly strong, rushing for 323 yards and five touchdowns through the first three games. Unfortunately he had issues with his knee at that point and missed a week. He came back October 2 and has played in every game since, but he has lacked his early season explosion. Although the Rams are a fairly bad team, it is a great sign to see Wells explode like this.

Wells faces a fairly solid matchup in Week 13 as the Cardinals host the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are playing well this year, but they have been inconsistent against the run. Wells is a solid start in the coming week.
