Hakeem Nicks finished Monday's 49-24 loss to the Saints with seven catches for 87 yards. That's a respectable line, especially in fantasy leagues that reward receptions, but if you told fantasy owners ahead of time that Eli Manning would throw for 406 yards, they probably would have expected a bit more from Nicks. Instead, Victor Cruz was Manning's favorite target for the night, racking up nine catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Nicks hasn't scored as many touchdowns as many predicted thus far in 2011 -- he has only four on the year -- but his size and ability in the air makes him a constant red-zone threat. Coming into the Week 12 matchup against the Saints, Nicks had 43 catches for 685 yards and four touchdowns. With those stats, Eli Manning's stats this year and the Saints' average pass defense, Nicks looked like a solid play in most leagues coming into this week.
