New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has reportedly received some bad news that could sideline him indefinitely. Reports out of New York indicate Bradshaw suffered a cracked bone in his foot, although the team has not officially released any information.
Even without the official release of information, it seemed likely that Bradshaw was going to sit out Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Brandon Jacobs would take over the bulk of the carries, with D.J. Ware and Da'Rel Scott acting as his backups.
If Bradshaw decides on some kind of corrective surgery on his foot, he would miss even more time. If that were the case, the Giants would need to re-assess their running back strategy moving forward. When all backs are healthy, Bradshaw is the primary back, but Jacobs gets upwards of ten carries a game. If Bradshaw is out, it will be interesting to see if Ware or Scott emerges as a viable fantasy option. Jacobs will be the primary fantasy option, but that could change depending on the Giants strategy.
