Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones has been ruled out for this Sunday's game with a high left ankle sprain.
Jones has missed the last two weeks with the injury and just had his walking boot removed. Jones has not yet begun to run, which means he could be a few more weeks away from returning to action.
In the absence of Jones, 2011 third-round pick DeMarco Murray has emerged as the team's leading rushing, carrying the ball 33 times for 327 yards and a touchdown in the last two games, with most of that production coming in a Week 7 win over the St. Louis Rams. Murray is expected to start on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, who have the NFL's 11th-ranked run defense and are allowing the fewest amount of rushing yards per play this season.
Rookie Phillip Tanner will be the No. 2 back behind Murray.
