LeGarrette Blount Expects To Carry The Load On Sunday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount is listed as "Probable" and is expected to start against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Blount has missed the Buccaneers' last two games with a knee injury, but was able to practice fully during practice and is expected to carry the load on Sunday, including on third downs, Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports.

"Oh yeah, I know I'm going to play third downs in this game,'' Blount said. "I'm probably not going to play all of them, but I know I'm going to play quite a few of them. I've shown that I know the protections and I know the routes and everything and I can catch the ball, so that's going to help us out tremendously. It's going to let me stay in the game a little bit longer and play a lot more snaps, so I'm excited.''

Blount has 77 carries for 328 yards and three touchdowns, adding four receptions for 58 yards out of the backfield. Blount only caught five passes for 14 yards during his standout rookie season, but with Cadillac Williams moving on in free agency, and Earnest Graham out for the season with an Achilles injury, Blount will get more opportunities to move the chains on third downs.
