Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells has put together a solid 2011 campaign, but he has had to deal with a variety of ailments that have slowed his fantasy production. He found himself banged up once against Sunday afternoon against the St. Louis Rams. Wells has been dealing with a season-long knee issue and added a stinger to his medical report in the third quarter of the Cardinals 19-13 overtime victory.
Wells finished the game with 20 rushing yards on ten carries and another 13 receiving yards. He suffered the stinger in the third quarter, but it is the knee issue that is causing the real problems. He had surgery on the knee a year ago and is still struggling with it. He has acknowledged it will likely bother him all season long, so fantasy owners will have to live with it the rest of the season.
The Cardinals schedule the rest of the way provides a mix of good and bad matchups. They head east to Philadelphia where the Eagles have struggled against the run. They follow that up with a road trip to San Francisco to face one of the top rushing defenses in the league. They wrap up the three-game road trip at St. Louis. Wells should stay in your lineup for now, but he will be worth monitoring each week.
