Danny Woodhead Injury Update: Running Back Leaves Patriots-Giants Game With Leg Injury

Stay connected with SB Nation

New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead was forced from Sunday's game in the fourth quarter against the New York Giants with a lower leg injury. Woodhead left the game having rushed seven times for 26 yards and caught three passes for 34 yards. Woodhead was able to walk off under his own power and there is no subsequent update at this point.

The Patriots rushing attack can be difficult to figure out at times for fantasy football purposes. BenJarvus Green-Ellis would appear to be the starter, but then last week we saw Kevin Faulk get more touches when the Patriots fell behind. Faulk's knee took a bit of a pounding and he was inactive this week against the Giants.

Danny Woodhead got more touches than we've seen in a while so who knows what that means moving forward depending on his leg injury. Of course, for a while Stevan Ridley was the guy getting the additional touches. It really is a conundrum trying to figure out who has what value in that backfield. Green-Ellis would still seem to be the guy, but you never know who might steal some carries from him,
