Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell is suffering from a shoulder injury and head coach Chan Gailey thinks the team might need to bring in another kicker for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Lindell suffered the injury while making a tackle in kickoff coverage and it is apparently "bad." There is no additional word yet on the length of time Lindell might be out, if he is indeed out at all.
Kickers are often easily forgotten in the world of fantasy football, but in 2011 Rian Lindell has become a solid option week in and week out thanks to the impressive Bills offense. The team is getting into the red zone with some regularity, which provides him with more scoring opportunities.
At the same time, you do not want to take a zero at the position, so if you have to drop Lindell, it is not the end of the world. There are a few dominant kickers, but for the most part it is fairly easy to find a decent replacement. In considering kickers to add, look for teams that struggle in the red zone and generally struggle on offense. That's not exactly rocket science, but it is fairly easy to figure out who can help you on the waiver wire.
