Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez was well short of dominant, but with seven catches and 82 yards, his fantasy owners won't be complaining. The only downside to his performance was being held out of the endzone.
It was a stark improvement over the last time Gonzalez faced the Panthers. In fact, the Panthers designed a game plan that limited Gonzalez to his worst fantasy performance of the season (3 receptions for just 29 yards and no touchdowns). However, he has been heating up of late with respect to both receptions and yardage, posting his two highest reception totals prior to Week 14 in the past two weeks, and producing his highest yardage total in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.
For these reasons, he came in ranked as the No. 7 tight end in fantasy for Week 14 over at the SB Nation blog Fake Teams.
