Caleb Hanie really is not a NFL quality starting quarterback. He showed that once again on Sunday, as he threw three interceptions for the second straight game. This time, however, he did not have any touchdown passes to help offset his performance. Hanie finished 11 of 24 for 133 yards, giving him a quarterback rating of just 23.8 during Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hanie had just four completions that went for more 10 yards and generally looked completely in over his head. It certainly didn't help that he was also sacked seven times.
The performance was so bad that the Bears will almost have to consider using rookie Nathan Enderle. The 23-year-old product of Idaho has not thrown a NFL pass, but Hanie's limited experience is not doing him any favors. The already bad situation could get even worse as running back Matt Forte left Sunday's game with an injury and it's unclear if he'll be able to come back.
