Drew Brees is certainly no slouch when it comes to winning games for the New Orleans Saints, but the veteran quarterback has probably helped quite a few fantasy games to victory over the past several seasons as well. The Saints' signal caller had another great game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football.
Brees completed 25 of his 35 passing attempts for 333 yards and three touchdowns, all without throwing a single interception, as the veteran passer led his Saints to a 31-7 victory over the Lions. He spread the ball out well, too, as six separate receivers caught passes and three (Robert Mechem, Darren Sproles and Lance Moore) found the end zone via passes from their quarterback.
Brees was ranked as the second-best fantasy option by most outlets heading into the week, behind only Carolina Panthers rookie Cam Newton, and he likely lived up to those lofty expectations for his fantasy owners.
