Ben Roethlisberger Could Have A Big Game Against Browns Secondary

Stay connected with SB Nation

Though he's been listed on his team's injury report with a right thumb injury heading into a match-up with the league's No.1-ranked pass defense, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger should be considered a safe fantasy play in tonight's game against the Cleveland Browns.

In 13 starts against the Browns in his career, Roethlisberger has completed 62 percent of 329 pass attempts for 2,971 yards with 19 touchdowns and just nine interceptions, adding 178 yards and three touchdowns as a runner.

Cleveland's No.1 ranking in pass defense is a bit misleading as opponents have preferred to attack a soft front seven that has allowed over 150 yards per game this season. The Browns also have just six interceptions, which is tied for the second-lowest total in the league through 12 games. Cleveland's top safety, T.J. Ward, is out with a foot injury, which plays right into the Steelers' vertical passing game that has added another weapon in Antonio Brown.
