The Denver Broncos sat several players Wednesday as they look to get healthy following a tough, physical 23-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. One player who might be especially banged up is running back Knowshon Moreno, who left Monday's game with a hamstring injury early in the fourth quarter. He did some jogging on the sideline but never returned.
Moreno underwent an MRI on Tuesday but coach John Fox has not released the results of the MRI. Fox is calling Moreno day-to-day, although if it is the same as the Rams day-to-day on Steven Jackson, Moreno will not play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Even if healthy, the Broncos running game faces an uphill battle in the questionable offense. Under Fox, Moreno is likely to see plenty of carries when healthy. However, Fox also enjoyed splitting carries in Carolina, which could bode well for backup Willis McGahee. For now, if Moreno is unable to go on Sunday, McGahee is likely to get most of the carries against the Bengals. Although Cincinnati is coming off a win over Cleveland, they are still likely to compete at the bottom of the pack and look to be a decent matchup for Moreno or McGahee.
