A few days after losing Marques Colston for at least a month, the New Orleans Saints received some good news on Wednesday as wide receiver Lance Moore was able to get in a full practice for the first time in several weeks. Moore suffered a groin injury and was unable to recover in time for the team's season opener against the Green Bay Packers.
Moore's return would be a huge offset to the loss of Colston as Moore has been one of the most consistent threats for the Saints when healthy. He is not going to put together many monstrous games, but he is a safe flex receiver option week in and week out when healthy. Add in the absence of Colston and Moore suddenly becomes a great option for the short term. The Saints running game still has some question marks and Drew Brees is as consistent a quarterback as there is in fantasy football.
We'll know more about Lance Moore's health on Thursday and Friday as he tests out the groin on back-to-back workouts. If there are any question marks he's likely to shut it down for the day given how tricky groin injuries can be. But if he is able to get in a full practice on Thursday and Friday, he could be worth inserting into your lineup.
